Work in progress
They're digging up the road outside our house tonight. Actually that's not quite true. They're working on the holes that they've already dug outside our house. A new water main being laid through the town. It's not very noisy, but there is still the sound of machinery and bright lights and the sounds of activity.
Work in progress.
And it means we have no water. It's amazing how you take it for granted that when you turn on the tap water comes out. Until it doesn't. And no water means no tea.
Son has his first GCSE exams tomorrow so I hope the work going on outside doesn't disturb him too much tonight.
It's a tricky balance between trying to encourage Son to work as hard as he can for his exams and not pushing him too far so that he says sod it and stops doing anything.
Work in progress.
Our roof is badly in need of repair. Work started on it last week. But they need dry weather to finish it. And that is something we haven't had much of lately.
Work in progress.
Our central heating boiler is on the blink too. A plumber came today to fix it but he has to order a part.
Work in progress.
The mice continue to evade capture. Still only one caught so far despite now having three traps on the go including an all singing all dancing multiple mouse catching trap.
Work in progress.
I could murder a cup of tea right now.

Sounds like upcoming posts with lots of news to come. Hope you find the perfect cup of tea very soon.
We're out of coffee at our house. I'm ready to pull my hair out!!!
Ah yes, I completely understand the concept of 'work in progress'. It suits my life fairly well.
Theresa#1, I had to wait until the following morning for tea. I thought I was going to go cold turkey!
Theresa#2, how's the kitchen coming along? :)
(Funny you both commented almost at the same time.)
the joys of home onwership. it's not all it's cracked up to be...
Laine, true. In fact, I think one of our happiest times was when we rented a house in between selling and buying. It was such a relief not to have to be responsible for the house (other than trying to make sure the kids didn't wreck it).
